Skinners’ Academy are proud of the achievements made by our 2017 Year 11 cohort especially the 22 pupils who achieved the top level 9 grade under the new grading system (equivalent to A**) in English or Mathematics.
Two of our individual pupil success stories include Emer Sheffield and Selen Sucu who have earned themselves a place in the top performing 2,050 pupils in the country as they gained three 9s in English literature, English language and Mathematics.
More than 77% of our pupils achieved a grade 4 in English language compared to the national figure of 70% and 78% achieved grade 4 in English literature compared to 72% nationally. Overall 60% of pupils achieved 9-4 grades (equivalent of A*-C) in English & Mathematics.
Exceptional individual subject results came from Art, Further Maths and Physics who for a third year in a row achieved 100% A*-C grades. They were joined in the 100% club by Biology (2nd year in a row) and Chemistry.
Subjects with over 80% of pupils achieving A*- C grades included Spanish (97%), Home Languages (96%), French (87%), and Physical Education (83%).
This year our pupils who achieved A*-A grades rose by 6% overall. Individual subjects where over 30% of pupils achieved an A grade or higher included Home Languages (71%) Further Maths (58%), Biology (60%), Chemistry (49%), Physics (54%) and Art, French and Spanish (30% each)
