On Wednesday 7 October, all Skinners’ Academy sixth form students participated in full day of mediation training with the organisation TalkingWorks.
TalkingWorks training provides an intensive one day mediation skills workshop delivered by professional trainers, assisted by a team of accredited mediators who volunteer their time and coach the students in role-plays. We were lucky enough to have seven trained mediators and lawyers volunteer to work with the sixth form students… an incredible opportunity for the students involved.
Through the training, students developed the skills needed to resolve arguments in school, at home and in the work-place and the training allowed students to find out more about legal and mediation based careers.
Skinners’ Academy is committed to creating unique, beneficial opportunities for our pupils and sixth formers and feedback from the event was very positive, with all students really enjoying the experience and finding it a worthwhile exercise.
