PARENT COUNCIL
The Skinners' Parent Council are a group of volunteer parents that aim to help the Academy, and represent all parents and carers. The council feed in parents' views, creativity and ideas, ensuring their input makes a positive difference to the life and work of the Academy.
The parent council currently work alongside Natasha Bell (Vice Principal).
The role of the Parent Council
Our role is to improve links between all parents and the Academy, and support projects to improve the opportunities of the Academy. Current priorities are fundraising, supporting translation, business links and volunteering. We have key roles such as representation of Key stages (KS3-5) but work as a team to collaborate for the outcomes, such as a recent successful uniform sale to raise money for the Academy.

We wish to:
-
Work in partnership with the Academy to decide on the key priorities to take forward
-
Provide a voice for parents on issues that are important to them
-
Improve the Academy’s understanding of how to engage parents in their children’s learning and in the life of the Academy
-
Support the Academy to develop strong home/school partnerships
-
Support improvement by discussing the Academy’s strengths and areas for development from a parental perspective
-
Help make links with the wider community
-
Capture the unique and varied skills, interests, knowledge and experience that parents can offer.

We do not get involved in individual matters relating to children or staff in the school.
The Parent Council hopes to continue to build on the excellent work of the Parents Forum in representing the needs of parents, carers and children from the parent’s perspective.
