Thank you for visiting our website.
I am particularly proud to be the Principal of Skinners’ Academy. We are a truly inclusive secondary school in the borough of Hackney. Our motto of ‘be the best you can’ underpins all we do. This means that our dedicated teachers and support staff use their skills, experience and talent to ensure that every day is one of excellence for our young people.
We believe strongly in our Skinners' 6 (core values); they help us to remember that to be a member of the Skinners’ Academy community means to:
Be Curious | Be Cooperative | Be Determined | Be Kind | Be Respectful | Be Outstanding
We are committed to the achievement and wellbeing of our pupils, but we also want them to be a source of influence in the society that they live in; making sustainable and authentic contributions for future generations.
I do hope you find our website informative, but should you wish to see the Academy in person please do get in touch via our reception to arrange a visit.
With very best wishes
Skinners’ Academy, a school in the Woodberry Down (North Hackney) community for pupils aged 11–19, providing a world class education in a state-of-the-art building. Specialising in Enterprise, the Academy opened in 2010 and is supported by the Skinners’ Company, who is proud of the Academy being at the heart and hub of the local community. In September 2015 we launched our aspirational, high achieving Sixth Form.
The Academy's learning environment is inspiring, exciting and motivating. Therefore, with your contribution, we will challenge and support their paths to success. In addition, wellbeing is a priority for the Academy both in terms of pupils and staff, which is one of the many reasons why the Academy is considered a great place to work.
