SIXTH FORM ADMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in the Skinners’ Academy sixth form.

This has been an exciting journey so far and we are proud of the wide range of academic subjects and enrichment activities we have on offer.

In Year Admissions

(Applications for Sixth Form places made other than in the course of the normal admissions round)

These must be made through the sixth form online applications system which can be accessed below. Such applications will be dealt with as they are received, and a reply will be made within 15 school days. (We are using a new applications system, if you don’t hear within that time, please contact us on post16@skinnersacademy.org.uk to enquire further).

Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at Skinners’ Academy Sixth Form, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the Academy and the local authority. The appeals are held in Hackney.

If you wish to appeal please use this link to complete your appeal online here. Please do NOT use ANY other appeal form or send your form to your local authority.

 

You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal form. Your appeal will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal, You may appeal for more than one school.

Please note that the online form will ask you to download two utility bills dated in the last THREE months. If you do not have access to a scanner, please take two photographs with a mobile phone and upload the photographic files.

 

 

Depending on the situation at the time, your appeal could be heard online instead of a face to face meeting. Full details will be sent to you with your invitation to the hearing.

Timetable for appeals for the 6th form

Last day for lodging appeals is by 4pm on Wednesday 2 September 2021 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard within the first weeks of September. You MUST state the reasons for your appeal and supply any documentary evidence at this stage eg a copy of your results sheet.

 

Please note the timetable is very short to enable those appellants who win appeals to start as early into the school year as possible. A leaflet explaining the appeals process is here. The appeal date will be during the month of September 2021.

 

In Year Appeals

The last day for lodging an appeal following a refusal for a place mid-term is 20 school days following receipt of your letter of refusal. You MUST state the reasons for your appeal and supply documentary evidence at this stage. Appeal forms and other information must be submitted/uploaded here.
