Guadeloupe Visit

14 Year 8 pupils embarked on a Caribbean visit to Guadeloupe, a French island, to practice their French speaking skills and experience the French Caribbean culture. It was an amazing experience for our pupils, and the itinerary was filled with educational, cultural, environmental, and fun activities and most importantly they learnt lots of French.

With our link school, pupils had exceptional cultural and educational opportunities. They were given the opportunity to fully immerse in the local Guadeloupean secondary school. Their fellow pupils welcomed them into their facilities and even though some of them did speak English, many Skinners’ pupils grasped the opportunity to practice their French conversational skills with them.

In addition to this school experience, each day pupils had the opportunity to see various attractions from the island and enjoy the ecosystem and hotel facilities.

Overall, this trip was incredible, culturally and linguistically for all pupils and teachers involved.
