Marking Black History Month

As an Academy we are marking Black History month with a series of lessons on British Black History and Anti-Racism.

1st October marks the start of Black History Month. As an Academy we are marking Black History month with a series of lessons on British Black History and Anti-Racism. These lessons will contribute to the work undertaken by pupils in History lessons to ensure that Skinners’ pupils have a comprehensive understanding of British history including the contributions of British Black, brown and Asian people.

Sixth Form students are currently exploring the concept of Anti-Racism and will continue to do this throughout Black History Month. We end the month with extended Personal Development lessons, where the Academy will come together to explore how we can contribute to creating a more equal society.
