Citizens Advice
We are offering free advice appointments fortnightly on a Monday between 9:30am - 12:30pm. To make an appointment with Citizens Advice Hackney, please speak to Miss White for a referral. Alternatively, you can call us directly and leave a voicemail with your contact details: 020 3880 2266.
Citizens Advice helps parents with a huge range of issues, including navigating benefits and money worries (Universal Credit, child benefits, help with bills, debt), family law (separation, divorce, child arrangements), housing problems, education concerns, and employment rights, offering free, confidential advice online, by phone, or in person to help families manage financial stress, legal issues, and daily challenges.

Turkish Speaking Parents' Coffee Morning
Date: Monday 15th September - 10.00am until 11.30am
Summary: This is an informal gathering for Turkish speaking parents or community members to come together in a relaxed setting to build relationships, share ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations about their young person. We will also share updates, discuss upcoming events, and gather feedback from parents in an informal setting.
Portuguese Speaking Parents' Coffee Morning
Date: Friday 19th September - 10.00am until 11.30am
Summary: This is an informal gathering for Portuguese speaking parents or community members to come together in a relaxed setting to build relationships, share ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations about their young person. We will also share updates, discuss upcoming events, and gather feedback from parents in an informal setting.
SEND Coffee Morning![]()
Date: Tuesday 30th September - 10.00am until 11.30am
Summary: We warmly encourage you to attend, whether you are already receiving SEND support for your child or simply feel they may benefit from additional guidance. Together, we can help make transitions a more positive experience for your child.
- Practical strategies for managing behaviour during times of change.
- Tips on building resilience and confidence in your child.
- Guidance on how to support your child’s emotional wellbeing.
- An opportunity to share experiences and connect with other parents.

Dads' Coffee Morning![]()
Date: Wednesday 1st October - 10.00am until 11.30am
Summary: We know how important dads are in the lives of our children and in shaping our school community. Research shows that when fathers and father figures are actively involved, children benefit socially, emotionally, and academically. The coffee morning is a chance to:
- Connect with other dads in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
- Share experiences about parenting, wellbeing, and supporting our children.
- Build community by strengthening the partnership between home and school.
- Have a voice in conversations about how we can best support our children’s learning and development.

Healthy Relationships Workshop
Date: Tuesday 7th October - 5.00pm - 6.00pm
Summary: Nurturing positive relationship amongst young people. This workshop will be delivered by the Safeguarding team.
Online Safety
Date: Tuesday 2nd December - 5.00pm - 6.00pm
Summary: This workshop will help parents understand the risks young people face online, including social media, gaming, and digital communication, and how these may impact wellbeing, safety, and reputation. It will also share practical strategies, tools, and resources to support families in building positive online habits, setting boundaries, and knowing what to do if something goes wrong.This workshop will be delivered by the Safeguarding team.

Food & Nutrition: Parents can discover nutritious meal ideas and connect with others to discuss the benefits of providing a hot meal. This workshop will be delivered by school nurse. |

Recognising Concerns Regarding Young People’s Mental Health: This workshop will raise awareness of mental health, help parents identify early signs and symptoms of mental health concerns, and share practical techniques to support young people’s wellbeing. It will also provide information on how to access and signpost to external support agencies. The workshop will be delivered by the school counsellor. |
