We are pleased to invite all Year 11 pupils to attend our Sixth Form Taster Day on Saturday 6th December. This special event is designed to give students a genuine insight into life at Skinners’ Academy Sixth Form and help them make informed decisions about their next steps.

Throughout the day, pupils will:

• Experience four Sixth Form taster lessons in subjects of their choice
• Spend time in our dedicated Sixth Form area
• Meet Sixth Form teachers and current students
• Enjoy a complimentary Sixth Form breakfast
• Learn more about the expectations, opportunities and support available at Post-16

Our Taster Day offers an excellent opportunity to explore subjects in greater depth, understand the transition to Sixth Form, and get a feel for the independence and learning environment we provide. Skinners' Academy was in the top 10% of all schools nationally for progress in Sixth Form in 2025, making it the perfect place to continue your education.

Year 11 pupils can sign up here. Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Sixth Form Open Evening

There will be a range of activities on the evening, all of which are designed to support you to make informed choices:  

Presentation - This short presentation by the Principal will give you an overview of our provision, outline why we believe our Sixth Form should be your top choice, and give an overview of our proposed curriculum offer. 

Subject Showcases - Following your attendance to our presentation, you are invited to visit the subject showcases in the Sixth Form Area. Each subject that we offer will have a stall on the evening that will provide an opportunity for you to talk informally to subject leaders, teachers and current students about specific course content, entry requirements and future careers opportunities that studying the subject can provide.

Careers and Curriculum Advice - During the evening, you are welcome to speak to our Independent Careers Advisor about post-sixth form options and how these may impact your choices for Sixth Form study. To support you in advance of the evening, please find the link to our Sixth Form area on our school website, where you will find our prospectus, course guide and entry requirements.
