Safeguarding

At Skinners’ Academy, safeguarding is a top priority. It refers to the actions individuals and organisations take to promote the welfare and safety of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

We believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All adults who work regularly on our site must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to ensure they are suitable to work with students. In addition, all visitors are required to sign in at reception and are closely supervised throughout their visit.

All school trips and visits are thoroughly vetted and approved by our safeguarding team to ensure student safety at all times.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards in protecting the children and young people entrusted to our care. We recognise that some children may be vulnerable to neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, and our staff are well-trained and well-placed to identify concerns and take appropriate action.

If you have any concerns that a child may be at risk, or if a child makes a disclosure—whether intentional or not—you must report it to a member of our safeguarding team immediately.
