Welcome to Skinners’ Academy
Welcome to Skinners’ Academy, a school in the Woodberry Down (North Hackney) community for boys and girls aged 11–19, providing a world class education in a state-of-the-art building. The Academy opened in 2010 and is supported by the Skinners’ Company, who are looking forward, with great enthusiasm, to the Academy becoming the heart and the hub of the local community.
Our vision is for every pupil to “Be the best you can”

Skinners’ is an awesome place to teach because the pupils want to learn. They are buzzing with questions… they really make me work! The class sizes are small enough so that I feel I can give everyone individual attention every lesson. The behaviour is so good that I feel I can teach properly, with challenging content in exciting ways.
Ms Deborah Syme, Head of Sixth Form
Skinners’ Academy has provided me with a high quality education and has helped me to gain new skills. The school environment is very spacious and helps to encourage pupils to push through any limitations.
Aishah, Year 10
My daughter has settled in very well at Skinners’ Academy and she looks forward to going to school every morning. I am especially happy with the progress she has made in her lessons and the unlimited support she receives from the staff.
